Happiest Baby is dedicated to helping parents succeed at their most important job… raising healthy, happy kids.
Millions of moms and dads around the world know us from Dr. Harvey Karp's breakthrough Happiest Baby/Happiest Toddler books and videos, And many more are familiar with the 5 S’s–swaddling, shushing, swaying, side-position and sucking– his tried-and-true method for soothing crying babies.
While the 5 S’s are a parenting game-changer, Dr. Karp saw that families still struggle too much, particularly due to lack of sleep. This realization led Dr. Karp to pivot the company’s focus from publishing to smart technology, and to develop a suite of solutions for family’s everyday challenges. Our hero product, SNOO, tackles the #1 complaint of new parents: exhaustion.
“Swaddling and the white noise machine are a great place to start, but it became clear that parents needed more,” says Dr. Karp. “So I went out and found a partner, one of the leading engineers of MIT robotics, and we joined forces to create a totally new type of baby bed.”
After 5 years of development and testing with over 200 families, SNOO, the world’s first smart sleeper, was born. Our “responsive” crib takes the principals of the 5 S’s to the next level, to calm crying and stretch sleep through the night. Dr. Karp explains: “SNOO is a high-tech way of giving low-tech help. In essence, it lends a ‘helping hand,’ like a family member would.”
Check out our SNOO information page and keep an eye on Happiest Baby. We’re just getting started. More smart, practical solutions are coming your way!
